Seller Story: KAVILI was born from the encounter of Brenda Millán and Mayra Contreras; both designers agreed with the idea that when you connect design with Mexican craftwork the result could be a high level of quality product. “We understand the richness of the processes and the craft products, discovering that by merging them with design they open a whole world of possibilities, allowing that the meaning of craftwork can enhance and assert at the design circuits.” By this merging KAVILI originates; a collaborative project between designers and artisans for the creation of contemporary jewelry pieces. Filigree jewelry, an ancient silversmith technique from Oaxaca. From the design approach, created in the artisans´ hands, a work of art; tiny designs being shaped with thin silver threads, creating a delicate and beautiful piece that combine tradition and modernity. The meaning of KAVILI comes from combining two words of the Mixtec language, “KA” means iron or metal and “VILI” means beautiful. The collections are inspired by the nature and also the complexity and simplicity that surround us in life. KAVILI is the result of the passion of working with the craftsmen with a design approach, which goes beyond the valuation we can give to these wonderful creations.
