Zero Waste Pendant

During the process of casting our jewelry, small randomly-shaped pieces of brass become separated from the finished product. George and his team in the brass workshop rescue these pieces and transform them into smooth, bean-shaped pendants which they call "organics".

Seller Story: Yala is award-winning African jewelry for the modern woman, ethically and sustainably made in Kenya by artisans working in the informal sector. Winner of "Jewellery Brand of the Year" in the 2019 Sustainable Lifestyle Awards and the very first jewelry company in the UK to become a Certified B Corporation. We are a female-founded, black-owned business with roots in Kenya and the UK, and we have a true connection with the talented Kenyan artisans who work with us to create handmade, high-quality jewelry. All our products are made using reclaimed and recycled raw materials (such as brass, beads, and leather) by over 150 makers, including a group of Maasai women who operate out of a Fairtrade certified workshop. Our brand goal is to improve the lives of the people, and particularly women, in rural communities who make our jewelry, through financial empowerment and skills training. Every purchase of a Yala product makes it possible for these talented makers to be paid fairly and to work in a safe, healthy environment.
