Each large wall hanging can take weeks for José Cotacachi and his family to weave by hand on a traditional loom using locally sourced Ecuadorian sheep’s wool. The majority of colors present in each of José’s works come from natural dyes. José is one of the few remaining artisans preserving the tradition of naturally dying wool. This handcrafted piece is a one of a kind wall hanging.
This wall hanging is a red background patterned with black, white and grey blocks. This piece has a row of white accented blocks running through the middle of the wall hanging.The bottom has nine red tassels bundled with a grey wool.
