Each large wall hanging can take weeks for José Cotacachi and his family to weave by hand on a traditional loom using locally sourced Ecuadorian sheep’s wool. The majority of colors present in each of José’s works come from natural dyes. José is one of the few remaining artisans preserving the tradition of naturally dying wool. This handcrafted piece can be used as a traditional wall hanging, or table runner.
This wall hanging is a light blue background patterned with blue and red triangles and rectangles. The bottom is six blue tassels bundled with blue wool.
