Each small wall hanging takes José Cotacachi and his family a couple days at a minimum to weave by hand on a traditional loom using locally sourced Ecuadorian sheep’s wool. The majority of colors present in each of José’s works come from natural dyes. José is one of the few remaining artisans preserving the tradition of naturally dying wool. This handcrafted piece can be utilized as a traditional wall hanging, or placed under a centerpiece on a coffee table.
This wall hanging a solid grey background, with six light blue and white birds in two rows of three. The bottom has six grey tassels bundled with light blue wool.
